“Unsurpassed – Savior and Lord” is our current sermon series which looks into the book of Hebrews.  Like chapter 2, chapter 3 also gives us a warning.  However the warning is not about “drifting away” from the faith but about an unbelieving heart.  The chapter 3 warning refers to a condition that seems much more serious.  This points us to the truth that we are always changing – growing.  Either we are growing closer to God or further from Him.  Drift leads ultimately to unbelief.  The good news is that we can be changing for the better as well by fixing our thoughts on Jesus (v. 1) and holding on (vv. 6, 14).
