Over the three Sundays that I am preaching, I will be looking at three words from scripture which I personally struggle: Lament, Grace and Justice.  This Sunday will be Lament.  40% of the Psalms are laments, and much of the Old Testament scripture is a lament, often the anguished cries of the Hebrews to Yahweh.  I hope we will wrestle on Sunday with at least asking the question, has lament been superseded in the western culture and the local church by praise?   Have we lost a much needed connection to our God because of this shift in worship priorities?
