This message is the first of a sermon series, “Looking for the True King – 1, 2 Samuel.”  1 Samuel begins with a mother praying for a son.  Hannah was childless and God answered her prayer.  She vowed to give her new son, Samuel to the Lord.  So once Samuel was weaned he was given to the priest to be raised and minister in the House of the Lord at Shiloh.  God used Samuel to prepare the way for and anoint the first kings of Israel.  We never know the effect of heart felt prayer as it is put into the hands of God.
