The Spirit distributes gifts to us as He sees fit for the common good and for the building up of the church.  1 Corinthians 13 is framed by two verses -12:31 and 14:1.  Both of these instruct us to “eagerly desire” these gifts.  But between these two verses we have what has come to be known as the Love Chapter.  So as we eagerly desire the gifts, we are called to use them rightly.
