Christians live in the world but belong to another, which simultaneously makes us citizens of heaven and aliens in this world. Therein lies a unique challenge: to live according to a kingdom in which we do not currently live. The Bible instructs God’s people to base their lives on God’s kingdom, not the world. Yet we often feel tempted to live according to the standards of the world. In the midst of this tension, where can Christians find peace? In Ephesians 2:11-22, Paul provides some hope and clarity.
