As we celebrate Mother’s Day we will focus on the parenting task.  It can be overwhelming at times.  Just as these two followers of Jesus were overwhelmed as they headed home to Emmaus.  The risen Jesus however came up and walked along with them.  Parents like those early disciples we can also invite Jesus into our homes and around our tables.  His presence makes all the difference for parenting is holy work.  It is from God that parents receive their children and it is to God that they should lead them.  And we as a congregation can offer our gifts of presence and support for we all are part of forming faith in the lives of our children and youth.
