Following Jesus means we follow him alone.  We are tempted at times to add things to our faith that have nothing to do with Jesus.  Which leads to a “Jesus plus” faith… worshiping other “gods” besides our Lord.  And following Jesus also means we follow him completely.  We can also be tempted to subtract things from our faith and follow Jesus part-time.  This is the temptation presented to Daniel in Daniel 6.  Wouldn’t it be a small matter to temporarily stop praying?  Why would Daniel insist on continuing his daily pattern of prayer… especially when doing so was now a capital crime?  Why not wait until the 30 day law expired?  Daniel did not consider that following God could be part-time.  Do we?
