PEOPLE OF PRAYER
This Sunday we conclude our series on James, The Other Sacrifice. In his closing chapter James revisits the key themes that have been woven throughout the letter. Last Sunday we looked at James 5:1-12 and his last words on riches, perseverance and the tongue. Now we return to two other key themes: prayer and teachers/teaching in this Sunday’s text. Are we as a church (or the church in general) known for being people of prayer? James had the nickname “Camel Knees” due to much kneeling in prayer on calloused knees. My knees are not calloused and my prayer life is minor. Can this change for me (and you?) Yes, by heeding James’ example and teaching.
