Passage: Hebrews 11:32-12:3
Service Type:

This Sunday we begin a new series, Our Story – A Look Back and Ahead.  The last Sunday in October, marks Reformation Sunday when many remember the occasion in 1517 when Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany.  There are many faithful who have passed on before us to which our scripture points:  NIV Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Martin Luther is one of that number.  God used him to remind the church of his day that God is a forgiving God, full of grace, full of mercy, full of love for each and all.  His ministry as a priest and author was instrumental in reforming the church of 500 years ago …the impact of which still reverberates among us today.
