We are continuing our Faithful Stewardship series based on the Gospel of Luke.  Recent messages have highlighted the way that wealth can deceive us (Parable of the Rich Fool) and can dominate and boss our lives (Parable of the Shrewd Manager.)  In our new parable, The Rich Man and Lazarus, we learn that wealth can also blind us.  Lazarus, a beggar, was laid at the rich man’s gate day after day.  But the rich man was blind to the opportunity to love his neighbor right on his doorstep.  Are our eyes open to the opportunities that God gives us to love our neighbors, those around us in need?  Are we neglecting someone “at our gate?”
