THE OFFERING THAT COUNTS

Preacher:
Passage: Hebrews 10:1-14
Service Type:

“Unsurpassed – Savior and Lord” is our current sermon series which looks into the book of Hebrews.  This Palm Sunday we will consider how Jesus lived out verses 5 – 7.  Hebrews 10:5-7 says… Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; 6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. 7 Then I said, 'Here I am-- it is written about me in the scroll-- I have come to do your will, O God.'"  Jesus understood and comprehended fully what was ahead of him as He took that donkey ride into Jerusalem.  He was not captivated by the adoring crowd and parade-like atmosphere.  Instead he was captivated by doing his father’s will.  The body God prepared for him he knew was soon to be offered up as the once for all sacrifice for sin.  What captivates us?  Are we ready to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to God, to accomplish His will… to be put at His disposal as Jesus did?
