We continue with the series, “Looking for the True King – 1, 2 Samuel.”  2 Samuel 7 is the account of the making of one of the five main covenants that God has established with His people.  The other four can be found in Genesis 8-9 (Noah), Genesis 12, 15, 17 (Abraham), Exodus 19-24 (Moses), and most importantly Jeremiah 31, Matthew 26, Luke 22 (Jesus and the New Covenant).   King David wanted to build a house for God but instead God promises to build a “house” for David.  As verse 16 says:  Your house and kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.  We can offer God our plans but many times He counters with plans of His own (which are by far the better.)
