WALKING THROUGH THE EYE OF A NEEDLE
This story of Zacchaeus contrasts the story of the rich ruler. Both met Jesus but chose different paths. One walked thru the “eye of the needle” finding salvation and the other could not. The words Jesus spoke to Zacchaeus are words to us: “I must stay at your house today.” Do we welcome Jesus as Zacchaeus did? Will we live into the new creation that we become when we do welcome Jesus into our lives? Zacchaeus is a good example for us in that he, though very wealthy, let his new faith drive his economic practice. Sadly, the rich ruler did the reverse, allowing his economics to drive his faith.
