WE LEARN FROM HIM
We continue the sermon series, Matthew: Treasure from things new and things old. Matthew’s story now begins to focus less on Jesus’ ministry to Israel and more on Israel’s response to that ministry. There are exceptions but on the whole Israel’s response in one of rejection. Jesus sent out the twelve knowing they would face opposition and rejection. And he explains in this passage that His teaching and ways are hidden from the wise and learned yet are revealed to “little children.” So as God’s harvest workers we rely on God to do the revealing. It is God who opens the eyes. Knowledge of God is not a product of our own searching. We learn from Him.
