WHERE THIS IS ALL HEADING
We continue the sermon series, Matthew: Treasure from things new and things old. Last week we focused on Jesus speaking judgment to Israel and the Temple. Jesus did this because the Jews lived very religious lives but lived them without Him. The question we are left with today is “how much is Jesus at the center of what we do?”
The focus for this Sunday expands to Jesus speaking judgment to all nations. As our Apostles Creed includes: He will come to judge the living and the dead. Throughout Jesus’ ministry and up to the very end He has been repudiated and rejected. So as He peers into the future to the Day of the Lord and His return we see that all will be judged according to how His followers (the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine) will be treated. Will the rejection continue or will the message and the messengers of Jesus be embraced?
